Space Derby Procedure
1. Every Astronaut
brings his rocket to the inspection table to have his entry checked and numbered.
2.
Then the Astronaut goes to the registration table
where his name and rocket's number are entered on a heat sheet.
3. Astronauts then report to the staging area. Ground Control Staff will wind
the Rockets and place them in the On Deck rack in the order in which they will compete.
4. When
the Astronauts name is called, he should come to the front to cheer for his rocket. Mission Control staff will place
the rocket on the proper Launch Pad.
5. The Mission Control commander launches the rockets.
6. Mission Control Staff record the winners. The Astronaut then returns his Rocket to the Staging Area to wait
until his name is called again.
7. We will run a double elimination for each Rank. The First and Second place winners
for each rank will race each other in order to determine the Pack Champion.
8.
As this event will be held at the same time as Genius
Night - All ranks not actively racing should be working on their Genius Night project with their den!
